UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT PRIZE PRESENTATION

All students entering this competition have had their registration sponsored by (TBA) and we are anticipating a prize of £250 for the winning presentation.

The winner will be announced by the three judges on the Friday morning - just before the meeting ends.

Rules

• One, two or three students can present a single topic
• One presentation from each participating Medical School
• Each presentation to last a maximum of 15 minutes, with the remainder of the 20-minute time-slot for questions
• Both the presentation and the content must be certified as the students’ own work
• The content must be work undertaken in the Academic Department/Unit of General Practice/Primary Care
• The student’s Department is responsible for selecting and submitting the presentation
• The standard parallel abstract is needed for inclusion in the written programme

Criteria for judgment

• Originality of the research question and its relevance to either clinical patient care or medical education in the community setting
• Appropriateness of the method
• Clarity of argument
• Relevance of conclusions and recommendations
• Elegance of presentation

Judges

There will be three judges from different institutions, not necessarily limited to those participating. Each will be independent of the students and of the courses represented.
